How do destination weddings work?

Our most popular package includes a 4-7 minute highlight video, full ceremony film and full speeches film, all delivered on a USB as full HD video files. Most weddings require between 8-10 hours of coverage. From the final touches of makeup until about 20-30 minutes into dancing.

We have shot many weddings all over the world in over 10 countries. Travel costs and package price varies on where you are getting married and the time of year. How many people are on your team?

Do you provide the raw video?

A typical wedding has 2-3 team members depending on the package chosen. This can include both cinematographers and an assistant. Many of our destination weddings are done by a single person. We don’t believe that big obtrusive teams are requires to make a great product.

This is an optional add-on and is provided on a portable hard drive. It is best to let us know you would like this add-on before the wedding. One important note about the raw footage though; with the exception of the ceremony and reception, the day is filmed in short 5-15 second clips. They are intended to be used in edited films and most clips may not be overly usable for other purposes.

Do I choose the music or do you?

Do you offer longer edits?

We choose all the music for our highlight films. There are two reasons for this: 1) We won’t know the best music/tone to use until after we look through all the footage. We want the music to work with the video and not force that relationship. 2) We must legally license the music. Not all music is available for us to license.

In addition to our most popular 4-7 minute highlight films we can also offer 15-20 minute films. Our style is not to provide extremely long edits that most people do not end up watching. The longest films we provide are of the ceremony and speeches.

Do you provide DVD or Blu-Ray copies of the films?

What about 4K?

We can provide DVD’s but the reason we do not encourage them is DVD’s are not actually HD (High Definition), so they lack the quality true full HD files provide. DVD’s are 480i while the files we provide are 1080p. In addition, many people are moving away from disc-based players and many computers these days do not even have disc drives. This is why we also don’t encourage Blu-ray discs. The files on the USB we provide can be played, copied, and put onto many formats and the USB standard will be around much longer then disc-based media.

If you would like your final video to be in 4K, this is an option. Ultimately though, most people cannot play 4K video at this time. Full HD 1080p is a very high quality format.
